Dict.cc translation data - Terms of Use

This is a translation of the German Terms of Use, intended to facilitate understanding for non-German users. Legally binding is the German version. The term "the data" means the contents of the database provided within the pages and files on www.dict.cc, and extracts thereof.

1. PERSONAL USE
   Utilizing the data for personal use is granted provided that the data is not given away to third parties or published in any way.
   
   
2. UTILIZATION WITHIN COMPUTER PROGRAMS
   Using the data within computer programs is permitted, as long as the following terms are observed:
   1. Programs using data of dict.cc must be subject to the terms of the GPL.
      This means, amongst other rules, that the source code of the program must be made available to the public.
   2. The data itself must not be published with the program. The user must be asked to download the data directly from dict.cc. This will ensure that every user has seen and agreed to these Terms of Use.
   3. The program must not be intended or suitable for publishing the data on the Internet, not even partially.
   
   
3. OTHER TYPES OF USE
   Any other types of use of the data, including but not limited to re-publishing it on the Internet, are not allowed without the express written consent of the maintainer of dict.cc,
   Paul Hemetsberger.
   Using the data in connection with search engine optimization techniques or spamming in any way is strictly forbidden.
   
   
4. GENERAL PROVISIONS
   Any aspects regarding the data of dict.cc not explicitly mentioned here require written clarification before using the data. The maintainer of dict.cc reserves the right to take legal measures should any violation of these terms occur. These terms are to be governed and construed by the substantive law of the Republic of Austria. The place of jurisdiction shall be Vienna.
